NanoTrust™
NanoTrust™ uses a unique technology of incorporating a forensic signature into individual tablets. This novel approach overcomes a key concern with current anti-counterfeiting technologies in that the product may be exchanged with a counterfeit substitute inside legitimate packaging.
NanoTrust™ applies customized nanoparticles directly into the tablet using a proprietary and patented process and creates a batch-specific "fingerprint".
The application and delivery is fully integrated into the tablet production process on the tablet compression machine. A defined and measured quantity of nanoparticles is introduced via a Piezo activated valve into the material to be tableted.
Full software control enables the nanoparticles to be delivered with ultimate precision and at lowest possible concentration (<0.002 mg).
The application puts no restriction on normal operating speeds and output rates. Even after tablet coating the unique nanoTrust signature can reliably be detected.
Authentication
NanoTrust™ technology applies a forensic signature directly in or on the tablet and not just to the packaging.
Authentification can be achieved at two different levels:
- IDENTIFICATION allows for easy field testing, using a laser detector pen that can identify whether a product is genuine or fake.
- AUTHENTICATION can be carried out with a forensic method identifying the unique fingerprint of the marked product.
The technology is applicable to coated and uncoated tablets. NanoTrust™ can be also combined with other anti-counterfeiting measures on the packaging for further enhanced security.
